SMILE – The Album 2018
Nathan Pure (Vox/Guit/Producer/Engineer) and his Band, consisting of Gert Stindl on bass, Franz Lechner on drums and the fabulous UK pianist Jim Watson on Keys (who also tours with Manu Katché), will deliver their album SMILE in February/March 2018 via „The But Music Group Brighton/UK” and “Universal Music London”.
Nathan created his specific sound based on his eclectic songs, the genre drifting from pop to rock to alternative to jazz but always staying clearly discernibly Nathan Pure. 4-minute radio spin pop/rock songs alternate with some 5- to 8-minute prog rock songs (but be assured they never ‘feel’ that long)!
The lyrics are based on anything life delivered over the years. They deal with current political and socially relevant topics like the refugee crisis or surveillance and media power, as well as with very personal life and love themes and the ‘craziness’ of being on this - sometimes - funny planet in general! And yes, it could happen that you find some of your own stories in these songs as well!
Nathan Pure plays in a lot of different setups from solo performances to a 3pc pure Rockband setup (bass/dr/git/vx) to full 6pc constellations. This always keeps the interpretation fresh and leaves enough space for each musician to add his/her personality to the performance!
A live performance with Nathan Pure will therefore always be really “live”!
The recordings were mainly made in the band’s homebased studio in Rossegg/Austria with additional recordings @ Jim Watson’s studio in Suffolk and @ Alan Darby’s studio in London. As the distinct sound is an important part of Nathan’s music, the whole record was produced, mixed and mastered by Nathan in the studio in Rossegg.
