Steven Williams on drums in his Chapel Studios Wimbledon

Recordingsessions @ The Chapel Studios Wimbledon!

In 2011 I got an absolutely fantastic opportunity to record 2 of my own songs with some of the best musicians of England in an absolutely top notch studio in London!

How this happened? Well, more or less by chance.

At that time I worked on a marketing concept for an Austrian businessman to promote an upcoming, quite big shop-website concept called ZONEWORLD. When we got close to the end, I suggested to record a song as a kind of a hymn for this site. And well, they accepted it. So we went to London to check out some extraordinary studios, and finally we decided to work with Steven A. Williams in his amazing Chapel Studios Wimbledon. Not only is his studio equiped with absolutely top notch gear, like a SSL Duality 48ch desk and lots of fantastic outboard gear and microphones, BUT he also aquired some of the best musicians in town for these sessions:

Alan Darby on guitars, who played with nearly all most famous stars in the UK music biz, from Robert Plant, Eric Clapton to Sting or Van Morrison and many more,

James “Jim” Watson on keyboards, who played with Katie Melua and Manu KatchĂ© and many more,

Trevor Barry on bass, who played with Phil Collins,

And Steve himself, who worked in his career with many stars like Britney Spears, Lisa Stansfield, Sting and many more, played the drums and was the producer.

Andy Caine worked on the vocal arrangements with Mae McKenna, Mim Grey and Tommy Blaize as additional background singers.

So this was an absolutely worldclass team, and this experience definitely changed my approach on making music from then on!

But besides their extraordinary musical skills, all of them were absolutely great and very kind persons, and it was a real pleasure and fun to work with them!

Unluckily the ZONEWORLD site was never realised, so this hymn drowned before it was even released!

But the spirit was born, and found it’s way through…
